Draft under legal review — see the highlighted placeholders below and the team's decisions doc. Not yet final.

FoodieNet ("we", "us"), operated by [PENDING — legal operator name, company number, registered office and jurisdiction once incorporated], connects food creators with restaurants for content collaborations. This policy explains what information we collect through the FoodieNet mobile app and admin dashboard, why, and how you can control it.

Information we collect

Required to use the Service unless marked optional:

How we use your information, and our legal basis

We don't currently rely on your consent for any of the above — where we do ask for consent (for example, optional marketing messages, if introduced), we'll tell you at the time and you can withdraw it at any point by contacting us or using the relevant in-app setting.

Who can see your information

Your profile and applications are never publicly visible — they're only seen by FoodieNet's own team (restaurants don't currently have their own login to the Service; FoodieNet's team manages offers and reviews applications/proof on their behalf) and, for a collaboration you've applied to, the restaurant you're collaborating with.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with the service providers that help us run the Service, and with the restaurant you're collaborating with (limited to what's needed for that collaboration):

[PENDING — confirm each provider's data hosting location(s), whether any involves a transfer outside the UK/EU, and what contractual safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) are in place for any that do].

Data retention

We retain your account and collaboration data for as long as your account is active. [PENDING — specific retention periods and the justification for each data category (e.g. how long after deletion messages/reports are kept, and why) — not yet set; see the Account deletion section below for what actually happens today].

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, restrict, or object to our use of your information, request it in a portable format, and — as set out below — request its erasure. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.

Account deletion — what actually happens

You can delete your own account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. This immediately clears your name, phone number, social handles, location, profile photo, and portfolio links from your account, and cancels any active collaborations.

To be accurate about what this doesn't do: messages you've sent, your proof submissions (including any uploaded screenshot), and any reports involving your account are not deleted or anonymised — they're kept as a record, still linked to your (otherwise cleared) account, so FoodieNet can resolve disputes and maintain accurate collaboration records. [PENDING — justified retention periods for these categories, and whether/when they should be deleted or genuinely anonymised instead — not yet decided; this policy will be updated once that's resolved]. Files you've uploaded (e.g. a profile photo or proof screenshot) are also not currently deleted from our storage provider when you delete your account — we're addressing this.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a collaboration obligation you'd already completed or that was still owed at the time of deletion.

Children

FoodieNet is not directed at children under [PENDING — final minimum age — see the Terms of Service for the current status of this decision], and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll tell you directly — for example by in-app notice or email — not just by updating the date above.
